Growing up in Montana has given me an appreciation for the natural recreation this state has to offer! I've been in the land business pretty much since I could walk... I remember lots of weekends
with my dad, learning about properties, learning how to give customers what they needed, and learning to show others how to appreciate the land.
I went to Bozeman High School, graduated in 1994. From there I spent a few years in Spokane, Washington, where I attended and graduated from ITT Technical Institute in the field of Computer Aided Drafting Technology. My father offered me a job at the end of college, working for his land company (Rocky Mountain Timberlands - www.rmtland.com) designing subdivisions, roads and the occasional bridge or cabin project. In the early 2000's, I bought & remodeled my first home, which led to me designing and building quite a few homes and multifamily projects. After working for my father for 5 years, I set out on my own by buying and re-selling a large remaining portion of an old subdivision near Columbus, Montana. I also started a construction company... The economy was booming, money and bankers were easy, and buyers were hungry!
That was the beginning of Steel Horse Real Estate. I would do market research, purchase vacant lots, design the buildings, build the buildings, do all of the marketing, and work with buyers that wanted to purchase my properties. In the fall of 2006, the market started to change. Hurricane Katrina made building materials hard to get, and inflated the prices of those materials. Buyers weren't as hungry as they'd been before... I could feel it was time for a change. Again, my father offered me a job working for him at Rocky Mountain Timberlands, selling properties that he owned. I excelled quickly as a salesman, and he then offered to promote me to work for him in the development end of the business. I firmly declined to work for him, and offered him the option of me working with him instead, as partners on whatever projects would come our way... The rest is history.
Would you like my help with a project? Would you like me to represent you in a purchase? Would you like to buy one of my properties? Are you an investor?
